Went to visit some relatives during Thanksgiving. On our way home, we decided to stop at some shops to do some shopping! It was Black Friday. I never shopped on Black Friday before. Anyway, everyone in the car was agreeable to the suggestion, and so we gave it a try.
Went to Garden Ridge, and saw tons of items with very attractive low prices. Got a few items - not as much as some shoppers did, with cartloads full of stuff, and were making our way to the check-out. Suddenly realised the check out line was about a mile long. We put our items back, and decided to leave the store empty-handed!
The experience at the first store did not teach us to be smarter. We stopped at a few other shops. The only shops with short check-out lines didn't have any special sale going on, and prices of goods were not attractive. Stopped at another shop where we picked up a few items. When we got to the shop, the check-out lines were not long at all. Of course, when we were ready to check out, the lines suddenly snaked around the store. We put back our items, and decided to head home!
No more Black Friday shopping for me!
